Long ago, when I first listened to Carlo Gesualdo's Tenebrae - Tenebrae means Shadows - I could not believe my ears. I absolutely loved this music. Being trained by the radio to listen to hits, and by my parents to some of the lighter classical music, it was quite a step. It was the first time I ever listened to dissonants, which gave an eerie but also very physical sensation, a bit like the feeling I get when I hear the noise of chalks screeching on a blackboard. I have held a special place in myself for this music ever since. If you don't know it, use google to find Tenebrae Factae Sunt by the Nordic Voices. If you listen to that music whilst looking at this work of mine, you may sense the link between both.

A number of years later, I wrote a series of texts I also called Tenebrae. They are in Flemish, and unfortunately they cannot be translated as I use double, triple and even personal associations with the words. I may add this collection one day to my site. I called them Poesophy, a combination of philosophy and poetry.
