WORK IN PROGRESS

At the moment I write this - August 2016 - I am still musing on how my sometime in the future returning Captain's Log will look like. So I cannot go too deep into this matter but suffice it to say that this work started out as a pure inprovisation of me together with Nature using visual microstructures that I then used in a wrong scale so as to make them appear very large. Then, suddenly, Inana was back, and because I now wanted this to be a work that was related to Her, I mused on consciously adding her. Seen the intended scale of the work, She would have to be represented quite small.
I hesitated for a long time, but finally decided to add her like I would have done when I started drawing. All arguments against this were wiped out thanks to several works of one of my all-time favouite painters: Jan Brueghel the Elder. The colours are clearly not his, but he reassured me I could add a figure like I did without reducing the work to some obvious 'meaning'.

From another point of view, this can be seen as a spectralist composition with, as a contrast, a short melody appearing in the tissue of sound.
This is also one of the works that really cannot be reproduced on a computer monitor. The colours I used are largely beyond the limits of the gamut a monitor can produce.
