Just like Inanna, the previous work, this one was drawn with stippling instead of lines. Everything is pure improvisation of the moment. Go with the flow

I have often wondered about this: just thinking that if I had drawn whichever detail at another moment, the drawing would have been completely different. When I look at this work myself, it reminds me of a kind of organic version of Von Däniken's Gods as astronauts and also of the sensory-deprivation isolation tanks we know from either personal experience or from must see Ken Russell's movie Altered States. Someone in a deep trance, exploring the inner realms of his being. I could have called this work Shaman, but it would have been too obvious. All too many would not see anymore what is drawn, but limit themselves to their fastfood new-age beliefs about shamans.

The title is a variation on the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn, the earthly boundaries in the North and South that mark the edges of the zone in which the Sun can appear in its zenith. These boundaries are reached on Summer- and Winter solstice. I particularly love the idea that when Summer begins, the days start to shorten, and when Winter begins they start to lengthen. Each rhythm has its counterpart, usually with a phi-tension so as not to become boringly symmetrical.
