WORK IN PROGRESS

  • image

The title comes from two poems by Charles Baudelaire, but there is no further link, neither to the poems, nor to the poet.
Adding colours is in itself a difficult and even risky process because there is no way to go back. Therefore I usually wait untill I sense Kairos, the right moment, has arrived and then dive in without further hesitation, confident the bridge will be there. It can take months before this moment arrives.
It's also strange when one muses on it that different colours would have yielded a completely different work. Every decision is vital, just like in life. What's more: colours are in a way limiting because by giving shapes the same colours links them together, thus reducing the endless interpretation possibilities by the onlooker.
