Dedicated to Scriabin. Some claim Horowitz said Scriabin composed his " Vers la Flamme" as a result of a psychotic vision. I really doubt he did use the word 'psychotic' . But whether he did say it or not: I don't agree. How could dear Vladimir ever create a good interpretation when he was convinced the work was psychotic? By becoming psychotic for the time of playing this work?
Rubbish! But I do admit that playing Scriabin goes beyond what most people call emotionally acceptable.
My favourite Scriabin recording is by Alexander Melnikov. He dares to play Scriabin as Scriabin has to be played.
