This work was started during 1980 but put aside. Originally it was larger: in 1982 I cut off a part at the right-hand side. I must have a photographic negative somewhere and if ever I find it, I'll add it.

I participated with this and the other three works in this series in a locally well-known yearly contest for drawings. The theme was Fear. I desperately needed money and the prize would have helped me with my bodily survival. There weren't many entries, and my works did catch some attention because no-one in the world of art knew me personally. But then, the last evening works could be brought to participate, an attractive girl came with hers. Quickly done and very mainstream. She looked much better than her creations. Yet she happened to be the lover of an elderly gentleman who happened to be a member of the jury...
So I decided to sell my electric guitars of the Shub Niggurath days and carried on, angry with myself because I had been so naive, and vowing never ever to enter a competition again.
